Cultural, Identity, & Disability Awareness
The Parent 2 Parent project recognizes how important it is to address different aspects of an individual's and family's identity when addressing issues of sex, sexuality, and sexual behavior problems. If you and your child are part of a marginalized identity group, you may experience unique challenges in finding the support and assistance you need in what might be an already-difficult time. Here you can find a collection of videos, articles, and websites that speak to multicultural families; those with lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) identified children; or children with developmental disabilities. We also offer several Spanish-language references at the bottom of the page. We urge you to read through any of these resources to see if they might provide support for you and your family. As we continue to build on and expand these resources, we welcome your suggestions, too!
